It is important to shave the hair prior to laser hair removal treatment so that maximum heat energy is in the follicle to achieve permanent hair removal and not on the skin surface. 

At Pro Skin and Beauty Manchester, we use Soprano Diode Laser technology which is known as the best of the best in the laser market because it works on all skin types, even the darkest black skin lasers. Results vary from person to person. Laser works best on dark hair and light skin, however results can be achieved with all skin tones as long as there is a contrast in pigments between the skin and hair. Laser hair removal does not work on white, blonde or fair red hair,  Soprano ice medical grade Diode laser can treat all skin types for permanent hair removal as long as the hair is dark.

Laser can reduce large areas of hair quicker than electrolysis which is why it is more common, however, laser hair removal does not work on red, white or blonde hair so if you have  a combination of hair colours like dark & white or dark &  red, then we can design a treatment plan to combine both treatments and targeting all the hairs achieving permanent hair removal whichever hair colour you have.

For best results, 6-8 sessions  of laser hair removal are recommended at 4-6 week intervals to achieve permanent hair removal by up to 90%, a small amount of hair may always remain but the overall reduction is permanent and life changing.

Yes, you must book a permanent hair removal consultation and patch test prior to treatment if you have never been treated with us before, even if you have been treated for laser hair removal elsewhere. This is completely free of charge and takes around 30 minutes

Throughout the course of diode laser hair removal, you will see and feel the difference from the first  or second session, the hair becomes reduced, coming back finer, softer and lighter and your skin texture feels smoother so you do not have to shave as much in between. The overall amount of treatments needed varies from person to person and depends on factors such as hair density, coarseness, treatment area. Laser is better known as permanent hair reduction as apposed to permanent hair removal as there is sometimes a small percentage of hairs that do not respond but these can be treated with electrolysis. Not only is electrolysis 100% permanent, its also effective for all hair types, all hair colours, all skin types and all skin colours too.

Laser hair removal is non invasive so you can go about your day as normal following your permanent hair removal treatment, the hair will shed from the follicle around 2 weeks after the treatment. You can encourage  this to shed sooner by rubbing or exfoliating

• DO NOT wax, tweeze or thread the area between treatments. 
• Shaving, trimming and bleaching the hair is ok.
• Apply Aloe Vera to cool & heel the skin if it feels warm or dry from the heat
• Wear sunblock on the face or and avoid tanning 
• Dont apply fake tan in the 2 weeks leafing up to your treatment, you can apply it after your session but not before

No, laser hair removal is not painful at all, it may feel like someone is flicking you lightly with an elastic at the absolute most. The soprano diode provides ice cooling for the skin so permanent hair removal can achieved without harming the surrounding skin.
